GE Capital’s Edge Cards are becoming increasingly desirable among retailers, as they offer significant competitive advantages and cost savings. The Logic Group’s payment card validation and authorisation product, Solve/SE, has been modified to enable retailers to offer GE Edge transactions easily and cost effectively at the point of sale. This new functionality is available as a licensed cost option.

This is available as a separate cost option. This allows GE Edge Cards to be accepted alongside traditional bank issued credit and debit cards. Solve-Payment, our settlement product, will also be enhanced to support the settlement of GE Edge transactions. The solution provides a combined GE Edge and card processing solution that is easily integrated with existing Solve/SE installations.
The use of an integrated solution avoids the need for separate stand alone terminals with their slow transaction times, and provides a single interface and connectivity method for offering this additional functionality. The Logic Group GE solution recognizes magnetic stripe format Edge Cards, validates the card details, accepts the entry of an appropriate product code and payment terms before routing the transaction to GE for authorization. The new option in Solve-Payment will enable the merchant to settle nightly all Edge Card transaction directly with GE. Once received by GE Capital, the payment file is processed and funds transferred to the merchant’s account.
