The European Commission’s mandate to the acquiring banks to unbundle the Merchant Service Charges will provide you with more detailed information on the costs of different payment types processed. The ruling requires the acquirer to identify, explain and justify the costs of other services including marketing, selling, support, acquirer risk, transaction processing fees, terminal supply, telecoms and terminal consumables, which are currently within the bundled Merchant Service Charge.
