UK customer interaction leader begins its European expansion drive with the opening of an office in Madrid

Madrid, 28 January 2010: The Logic Group has launched its corporate activity in Spain with the official unveiling of their Madrid full service office.  This announcement forms a part of the Logic Group’s European expansion drive, which also includes the projected opening of offices in several other countries over the next 12 months.

The first UK company to develop and introduce an EMV solution, The Logic Group remains a UK leader in this sector.  This leadership is also manifested in its multichannel payment technologies, which include full PCI DSS compliance (the stringent international standard for the security and privacy of credit card holders' data which all organisations are required to meet).

 

In its first development phase for its Spanish operations, The Logic Group will address the following areas:
Solutions for multichannel payment methods: processing transactions with credit or debit, EMV or magnetic strip cards using flexible and secure solutions which comply with the PCI DSS across all channels: in-store, internet, MOBO and other card not present environments, including leading edge technologies such as the contactless or top-up systems, or through prepayment cards, gift cards, purchase cards or points cards.

 

Programmes for managing customer loyalty: these offer the chance to improve consumers' experience in their dealings with the business, establishment, company or provider, and they also provide the opportunity to develop an understanding of the consumers, using this knowledge to influence their behaviour. Loyalty programmes not only increase the potential for keeping clients, but also encourage greater consumption.

 

Management of risk, fraud and security: these solutions cover three key aspects:

  • PREVENT: they limit to the maximum the exposure to fraud through expert consulting, and risk and fraud management programmes
  • PROTECT: they detect fraud the instant it occurs by means of correct procedures, anti-fraud systems and training

In the area of Multichannel Payment solutions, The Logic Group brings to Spain the SmartTPS managed service, which offers organisations a secure tool for EMV card processing through point of sale (POS) terminals, telephone sales or online transactions. This is the most complete multichannel solution available on the market, and includes installation, administration, transaction processing, generation of reports and 24 hour support.

 

Economic Profile

At the close of 2008/09 (30 September 2009), The Logic Group posted a turnover of €21 million. Thus, despite  two years of economic downturn, the company has grown 30% in comparison to 2007. The greatest increase in turnover occurred in the area of Managed Services with a rise of 75%, and specifically in Managed Services for customer loyalty which increased a little over 120%. As a European leader in the sector, the company has maintained an aggressive investment strategy in R&D during the last three years in order to safeguard its privileged position in this sector. The Logic Group has dedicated almost €11 million to R&D, which taken together with its investment in the customised solutions, represents approximately 20% of its revenue.
