Retail Logic and ValueLink in new eGift offering
Fleet, Hampshire, April 7th 2005: UK retailers and shoppers are set to benefit from the collaboration of two leading card processing specialists. Retail Logic has just completed an interface to ValueLink's eGift and spending card platform, enabling Retail Logic's core Solve/SE software to process ValueLink transactions.
"We're delighted to be teaming up with ValueLink," says Mark McMurtrie, Retail Logic Marketing Director. "eGift is really going to take off in the UK this year. Two industry leaders working together can only be a good thing for both retailers and consumers and accelerate the UK adoption of eGift. We expect to be able to announce the first of many joint projects with ValueLink shortly."
Thanks to the integration of ValueLink and Retail Logic software, electronic gift cards can now be processed in exactly the same way as normal card transactions without the need for new systems. Users will be able to activate gift cards, top up funds and carry out balance enquiries in-store, both quickly and easily.
"eGift cards are a real opportunity for retailers to increase profits by delivering a value-added service to their customers using the industry leading ValueLink platform," says Claire Stone, International Director, ValueLink. "Ninety percent of major retailers in the US have replaced their paper vouchers with gift card programmes and the UK is now set to follow."
